Teaching Spanish Commands can be fun and interactive with your students. After teaching the vocabulary of commonly used commands in, I like to take the Power Point one step at a time, teaching the regular separate from the irregular and adding the direct object pronouns when they are ready.
Use the following to help you in your teaching:
This Spanish Commands PowerPoint is a creative and colorful power point presentation on the TU commands with chores vocabulary. Includes affirmative (positive) and negative commands and how to form them. Also includes irregular commands and an easy way to remember. Also includes direct object pronouns (hazlo, no lo hagas) and their structure. Contains practices throughout to assess student understanding along with visual ways to remember forming commands and irregulars. Uses Malcolm in the Middle and Cinderella to help. Good to teach over a few class periods, one section at a time, or in it's entirety as a review. 76 slides!
This PowerPoint uses the Inductive Method of teaching. This is where students are given several different examples of the Spanish Formal vs Informal using phrases and images. Students then determine what the differences are and create their own rules. This engages the student more in the presentation and helps them remember the material better since they are taking part in the learning themselves.
Students are to create a Power Point presentation that includes different parts of the house and what commands they do in that room. Students are to use the commands with the correct object pronoun and then present the Power Point in class.
